We are seeking an exceptional person to head the Finance function at McFarlane Telfer (McFT), reporting into the CEO. McFT is a growing, dynamic organisation established in 1992 and focussed solely since 2010 on maintenance of commercial kitchens for high-end users, including the Royal residences.
The Finance Director role is a new position to help take us forward, continue growth and develop ambitious plans at home and abroad. We are seeking a candidate who is prepared to roll their sleeves up and get involved, while also taking on a strategic management role with vision, determination, leadership and strong judgment. The ability to communicate and an affinity for the fast-moving and entrepreneurial nature of a small business environment will be important attributes.
The mission is to grow a small business operating in a traditional, mature industry into a standard-setting, multi-national business model which enhances the lives of all it touches. For the last 5 years the business has achieved 28% compound growth, with a similar outlook and goal for the next 5 years.
The Finance Director will oversee the day-to-day activities of the finance team and ensuring that the company’s finance function is organised and efficient and produces accurate and timely financial accounts. A major part of the role will be working with Sales and Operations colleagues to provide them with key management information. An element of this will involve continued development – with internal and external resources – of our own bespoke and extensive ERP system.
